Consultancy experience
Clients include Scotland Food & Drink, MasterCard, Regus, European Commission, Willis Towers Watson, Scotland’s Innovation Centres, Edinburgh Napier University, and many SMEs.
In-house comms experience
My CV includes being Publications Manager at Europay International (now MasterCard Europe) in Brussels, and managing the communications at the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC).
Journalism experience
I worked as a financial journalist in London and Brussels, writing for publications including The Observer, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal Europe, Moneywise, and Investment International. I also launched and edited Personal Finance, a prize-winning monthly consumer magazine.
Awards
I’ve won prizes for magazine editing, copywriting, and children’s fiction.
Education
I have an MA in Law and Oriental Studies from St John’s College, Cambridge, and an Open University Diploma in Economics.
I’ve recently completed a part-time MSc at Edinburgh Napier University, gaining a Distinction and winning the Class Medal. My dissertation was on UNESCO World Heritage Sites and tourism marketing. I now do occasional lectures on Natural Area Tourism to MSc students at Edinburgh Napier.
